InstaWork app connects workers to jobs immediately

Instawork, an app that connects skilled workers with workforce-starved companies, announced on Wednesday that it had exceeded its goal of adding 100,000 new hourly professionals (Pros) by 2022.

The company called for more pros on September 16, 2021, and quickly hit its goal in six weeks, much faster than its three-month deadline. 1.5 million Americans are currently registered with the app.

Instawork has grown in popularity since the start of the pandemic, particularly in 2021. The app has seen a 50% increase in the number of new workers since August. The company says the increase is due to a 37% increase in new businesses across the country, spanning the hospitality, retail, restaurant and warehouse industries. Instawork helps a wide variety of businesses make sure they have enough staff for the holiday rush. Instawork is experiencing strong demand in the main markets:

  • Chicago – 59% increase in the number of new pros downloading the app
  • Los Angeles – 44% increase in the number of new pros downloading the app
  • Atlanta – 47% increase in the number of new pros downloading the app
  • Las Vegas – 41% increase in the number of new pros downloading the app

The majority of InstaWork Pros earn double their state’s minimum hourly wage every shift. They also get perks like hassle-free onboarding, same-day payment for their shift, and an in-app network to help with job selection, support, and feedback.

InstaWork Secures $ 60 Million Investment

InstaWork was first launched in 2016 with the goal of connecting thousands of businesses with over one million skilled workers in the United States. The company’s success at the end of 2021 was preceded by a $ 60 million investment from Craft Ventures last June.

Craft Ventures led the round, with participation from Greylock, Corner Ventures, Four River Group, WndrCo and Tilman Fertitta, owner of Landry’s and the Houston Rockets; Existing investors Benchmark, Spark Capital, GV, Burst Capital and SV Angel also participated.

Jeff Fluhr, general partner of Craft, who joined Instawork’s board of directors as a result of this investment, praised the app’s innovation in the job market:
